Moving RAID5 setup to new computer

My new CPU and MB will be here tomorrow, so this weekend, I'll be putting everything together which means moving my RAID5 array from this computer to the new one.

I'm going from DFI 875P-T and P4 560 to ASUS A8N SLI Premium and AMD X2 4400+. My controller card is the LSI MegaRAID SATA 150-4 and I have 4 x WD2500JD drives in RAID5.

Of course, I know the safe thing is to back everything up, but I don't want to burn that many DVDs, and a lot of my data is just pr0n or other stuff that can be redownloaded. I really just want to know if I should expect a problem, or if there's anything in particular I should do to make the transition as smooth as possible.
 
Since you are moving the controller and drives as a unit, I would not expect any problems. However, don't get cavalier. Wait until you have a working OS and a system that has been verified to be stable and corruption free before adding your RAID-5 setup back in to the mix. You should be able to simply install the driver, put the card in, hook the drives up, and reboot, then it should show up just fine.

Good idea.
One question, how do I install the driver before the card?
In that past, I went into Device Manager to install the driver.
 
My bad, that method is no longer recommended in Windows XP. Install the driver after you get it hooked back up. I seem to remember many manufacturers recommending installing the driver using either their CD or the Add New Hardware Wizard before physically installing hte product, but after clicking through the wizard, Windows tells me to install it first then worry abotu the driver. Shouldn't be a big deal either way.

wow, I didn't read your post until just now, but I made a point to keep track of what drive went to each port
just got the new system up and running and after installing the major things, turned it off, and connected all the drives - everything appears to be fine

next week, I'll have the fun of moving everything from this array to my new one
upgrading to 4 x WD3200JD on a RAIDCore BC4452

I plan to install and build the new array, move all the data over, and then take the old one out
