moving hard-drive

would i run into potential problems by doing this:

im upgrading my HD on my newer system and using that old HD in another system. can i just move it to the other comp without formatting it? iirc there is a registry trick that deletes the device manager and as long as it's the same chipset there shouldn't be any problems.

Doesn't matter even if chipset is different...windows will just load generic drivers to run it until you get proper ones installed...there is a small chance that windows may suffer from lockups if too much has changed but depending on what hardware you have it is usually relatively painless.
