Moving FreeNAS OS

Is it possible to migrate the OS bit of FreeNas to another device while keeping my volumes intact? I've been looking all over the place and haven't had any luck finding a specific guide to doing so.

what kind of volumes? what filesystem? are they RAIDed? What OS do you want to move to?

I'm pretty sure FreeNas has a backup and restore function for settings.

If ZFS just export then import. You'll have to reset the shares etc with a fresh freenas installation unless reinstalling to an identical system but all your data will be there as before.

Yeah you Can just back up your settings. And if you do not feel like doing that if ZFS just import and all will work well.
