Exactly how careful do I have to be when moving a case with the Zalman 7000A-Cu attached? As long as I keep the case on it's side when carrying or transporting it to relieve the stress on the socket should it be fine? I just want to take precautions to keep from warping a new board or just outright busting the socket out of it.

I have same worries with Zalman VGA cooler i have hooked up... its a tank just waiting to tear my card in half

Just don't bang it around and you'll be fine. orient the case so that the zalman is in the upright position, and not on it's side. This will lessen the stress it puts on the socket clips/retainer, and instead direct most of the force from it's weight straight down on the retainer and cpu (which the weight is then distributed amongst all 478 pins) and covers a bigger area which shouldn't be of any concern.

Is it an AMD or Intel? Intel I wouldn't be worried at all since it has that nice fat heatspreader epoxied on there. AMD you'd be a bit more careful. If you're still worried, I suppose you could always take the zalman off while moving it.
