Move the Vm Location

can any one help me with moving my vm location ?

I just got my new server up and running imported my saved vm and everything is running perfectly.

However i don't want my vm's saved on the main C; i wand them running / saved on the D drive that is raid drives.

ANy one tell me how to do this ?

Or do i have to export it or something then re-import it ?
 
1) turn off your vm.
2) right click remove from inventory
3) cut and paste vm directory from c: drive to d: drive
4)browse for vm's, find your new directory on d: drive and add the Vm's

edit: is this vm workstation?

this is 2008R2 server running hyper v.
 
well... i've shut down the VM before and have just moved it to another location then attached the VHD's to another vm, but thats not exactly whats being asked.

You're supposed to export right?

i want to move all the data off the c: and onto d:

Vm's storage and other associated files i want on D :)
 
If you want to completely move a VM in hyperV, shut it down then do an export. Put the export on the drive you want it to be on, then import the VM back. It will retain all configurations from before. Also make sure to change the snapshot location to the new drive if it didn't do that automatically.

Under the hyper V manager right click on the server name and go to properties.
Change your virtual hard disks and virtual machines storage location.

^^ i tried that yesterday but that didn't move them.
