Hi, system currently in sig.

Playing Black Ops at 1440p at all low settings on Battle Royale. Usually getting 60-70fps, but getting dips as low as 30's frequently.

I'd like to play Black Ops at 100+fps.

Wondering if this is a CPU limited or GPU limited situation.

What card in current line up would net me 100+fps consistently? Quite sure I have a FreeSync capable monitor, but have never experienced FreeSync or Gsync so I'm not sure if it should be a decision factor in the purchase.

Any benefits to hanging in and waiting for next line-up? Prices seem through the roof right now, but also frustrated with poor performance.

Thanks.

I would capture some logs using MSI after burner. When you see the frame drops look at whats pegged. CPU, GPU or both. Ryzen is sensitive to memory speeds and timings. Also large scale player battle games can sometimes just have poor performance and there may not much you can do. If I were you I would wait for AMD brings on the GPU side. If buying now used GTX 1080ti would be the only upgrade I would consider now and then jump on a new Ryzen 3XXX chip when they come.
