Which is the best? I don't want any of the "I own an optical, I only need my desk" crap, just tell me which is the best in your "humble" opinion.

Well, i only use generic pads, and i do have a Microsoft mouse pad. Damn thing keeps crashing ;)
I have heard good things about Ratpadz (apart from the advertising in [H]ardOCP). Sometomes though a god mouse pad may just be in a computer or electrics shop near you. Moral of story: Find one that suits you, not just everyone else.

but.... there are pros and cons, and i'd like to find people's oppinions instead of wasting my money.

Well, a friend of mine has that big freakin Fatal1ty Mouse pad. The thing is 14 x 17in. I have to say that it is a nice mouse pad and you don't have to worry about the mouse coming off of the pad, that's for damn sure. Here's the link for it. :D

fuNc 1030 (www.func.net) If you have a high sensitivity

DKT Pad (http://www.everglide.com/dkt.htm) If you have a low sensitivity

Ratpadz with some of those teflon strips on the bottom of your mouse. It opens up a whole new world for you :D

I use a "ghetto special"

I've had a ratpad since the first month they were released, or thereabouts.

My mouse is an Intellimouse Optical from a long long time ago.

I have since worn out the primary surface, so I flipped it over, stuck the plastic feet on the primary side, and have been using the back for god knows how long.

I dont really play Q3, but I played CS extensively. I went to canadian nationals a few years ago, and was probably one of the top players in canada, or on the west coast when I still played. If anyone played cs back then... they may recognize me, my name was fresh. I played for .eh? and nerve lan teams in canada, ugp, fg, tec, blahblahblah.

My point is, you dont really need a $100 mouse and a $50 mousepad the size of a house to play games well. A ratpad does work well, in addition to an ok optical mouse. It cant hurt though ;)
