Mouse Wheel Problem!

I'll keep this short. Sometimes when I scroll down with the middle mouse button, it doesn't work. The wheel itself works like it should and scrolls perfectly upwards, but sometimes skips when scrolling down. This is very annoying in game where you need to scroll to change weapons. I always have to scroll up instead of scrolling down.

I have a Logitech MX518. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Is there some way I can clean the mouse wheel or something?

I know this is probabaly not what you want to hear, and you should continue to seek support for your mouse, but I highly suggest using mix of number keys and other keys close to the WASD config for switching weapons, you'll find your game improves somewhat with faster more direct way of selecting weapons.

I have specific weapons mapped to mouse wheel up, down, centre & back. Very quick to select when you can simply flick without worrying about cycling too far. Others are mapped to keys.

EDIT: Sorry OP - are you sure that your mouse wheel is not set to scroll more than 1 line - could be your issue if you're getting unpredictable results?

I've tried that jellyhead and it didn't change. It's definitely hardware and not software as scrolling up works perfectly fine.

Sorry I apologise I thought you had it set to scroll through weapons.

If you're having a hardware issue you might want to RMA your mouse back to whoever you bought it off, if for whatever reason you cannot return faulty eqipment you might want to take a look inside the mouse to clean it.

If neither works then it'll have be replaced.

I've got the MX510 and have noticed that as well. Scrolling up always works fine, but sometimes the downward scroll dosent register. A few of my friends have this identical problem with MX500's MX510's, so it might just be this series of mice. IDK, but if you find a solution, post it up :]

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I might contact logitech and see what they have to say.
