I just got the new MX1000 mouse and I have always wondered this, but never knew the answer. Is it better to plug in the transmitter using USB? Or is it better to use PS/2 using the USB to PS/2 converter?

Thanks for you help!

I think you'd find it difficult to tell the difference in actual usage. I myself have quite a few mice, some USB, some PS/2 and even in games...you can't really tell. I would decide on how many USB ports you'll need, and if it's most of them, use the PS/2 connection. If you have plenty of free USB connections...use USB.

I always use the ps2 adapter to keep an extra usb port. It really is only a matter of preference though.

USB is in fact faster, but you won't notice a difference I don't think.

I think I remember reading in some review that the MX510 mouse had has less processing power in USB or something, I dont really remember.
