If this is not in the correct board please move it.

I am having an issue.

I have two computers hooked up through a Belkin 2-port KVM switch.

One of the computers is an HP Pavillion with a Pentium 4 running Windows XP Media Edition.

And the other is my AMD machine.

The one I am having an issue with is the Pavillion. This is what it's doing. Lately the mouse stops responding totally. If I switch over to the AMD the mouse works but if I switch back to the Pavillion it still ceases to function.

I've tried rebooting, unplugging the mouse then plugging it back in I've tried shutting down, I've tried removing power fromt eh computer completely for a few minutes and nothing works. The mouse cursor however is shown on the screen but it's frozen.

Has anyone experienced this? And if so, what is the cause of it?

Like I said, it only does it on the HP Pavillion and it's starting to piss me off because it stopped working about 30 minutes ago and I can't get it back.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, and no go. I dug out my USB mouse and plugged it into the back of the computer a viola it worked.
