Hello. I am getting a shiny new inspiron 9100 laptop as a graduation present from my grandmother. it is really going to kick ass, but i am used to desktops, and i really hate those freakin track pads!! I fear laptops for that reason alone, and always look computer illiterate when i use a laptop because i cant make the mouse move!! :D

But anyway, i am just going to buy a REAL mouse to use with it, and i was wondering what you guys think. obviously has to be optical, and i was considering wireless. i know that most of the wireless mice have a lot of lag time, but are there any that do well? i am going to play some games on this machine so i need a responsive mouse. Thanks in advance!

i was just looking at that and its younger brother mx900 Bluetooth. are they responsive enough in games? I used my friends wireless mouse (it is kinda old however) and the lagtime scared me a bit from wireless

if the Inspiron 9100 has bluetooth, I would recommend the MX900 Bluetooth. Should accomodate very nicely :)

I've had the MX700 since when they came out, and I've never experienced any lag time with it.

Oddly enough, when I do get lag, it tends to be from the keyboard - and you wouldn't think that transmits much data either.

I support the MX700 and 900 recommendations. On a budget, i ike the MX500 (the wired model).

ooooohh... i like shiny stuff :D
i think that i will go with that mx510. i would really like to get the mx900 but the $80 pricetag is a bit high. eh.. the cord has never really bothered me much. thanks all!

Logitech mouseman dual optical > all. Best mouse design ever.

Then Logitech stopped making it :(
