Currently I got this MS Optical Intellimouse which cost £30 but after just 2 years it seems to be malfunctioning. Like if i'm highlighting a box around files or something, it will dehighlight about halfway by itself as if i had let go of of the button myself! It ends up highlighting only some of the things, forcing me to do it again or using control and highlighting the remaining objects individually, doesnt happen often but its extremely annoying when it does. It also seems to have a mind of its own and clicks by itself. like if i only click once on a file it will double click and run it! All the setting for the mouse are pretty much on default except the mouse speed which i increase.
anyone know whats wrong?

Does the same happen with another mouse? Sounds like a buggered rodent to me, though you might want to try uninstalling the drivers & reinstalling.

You might also want to try reversing the mouse buttons & see if the same happens. :)
