Have an antique computer here, P200 (mmx!), win95.

It's got a wheel mouse, about 5 years old.

Computer goes to sleep, wakes up, mouse will not work. Computers not frozen, mouse isn't broken, just it's stopped talking to the pointer on the screen. Restart computer and it's fine.

Happens every time it goes to sleep nowdays. Short of not letting it sleep and sit there 24/7 chewing full power, any solution?

Can't format or anything of the sort- it's 7 years old and all the drivers came on floppy, all of which are long dead :(

cheap solution; buy a $5 mouse. you could reformat and install win 98 if you have a copy laying around. harware is so old win98 probly already has drivers for your hardware. Machine isn't going to usefull for much more than web surfing and word processing. Unless you have some old dos games laying around.

OoOoOoOoO..... DOS... Man that brings back memories. Anyways if you are having problems, why dont you just disable the settings so that the computer doesnt go into sleep mode (cheap solution). It will save you from spending money and ripping your hair out.
