mouse power

wasnt really where to put this so since i want to change my mouse i guess here anyway
i was wondering if i can do something to add power to my mouse so i can add more leds and make them all shine at full power

Why you'd want a glowing mouse I have no idea; it seems like it would be far too distracting. But if you insist, there are USB hubs that let you pull up to 1 amp. If you are really desperate you can always run an extra power line to your mouse.

Get a Razer Diamond back with the clear cover...it will light up nicely =) I have one, not the clear red one, but it still has 4-5 LED's including the one that lights up the mouse wheel.

well usb uses 5v, use a resistor and run the leds in parrerel im pretty sure usb will support enough for a couple leds atleast

yeah, the USB should provide enough power. If not, just take a separate wire, run it along with the USB cable and heatshrink it together to your PC.

Or there's the opposite route of taking all light out of your mouse. Replace the red LED with infra-red and it'll be invisible to the human eye!

I like that idea but dont you need the LED to make light for the "cam" in the mouse to see

Actually no, the "red" LED is more of a marketing thing. The optical camera does work well with red more than blue (that's why the blue LED mods don't work out that great all the time) but the truth is that infra-red LEDs work even better and your eye can't see it. No more being blinded by the mouse.

There's some invisible mouse light mods out on the internet that I've seen before, and even Logitech's new Mediaplay Mouse (that I have) uses an invisible infrared light that's sealed in.

I can't see the light unless I look at my mouse through my webcam, which picks up the IR my eye can't which is really cool.

Do you know if it will work with my explorer 3? it has a red plexi base, i hate microsoft. but i aint gt no money to get a new mouse
