I've seen some posts mentioning certain mousepads and mouse maintenance, and would like to know more. I'm one who's always just used whatever mousepad I could find, sometimes not used one at all, just keep using my optical mouse, don't do anything with the pads on the mouse, etc.

So could you give me some tips/info on what type of mouse pad is best and in general what to do to improve my optical mouse's performance? Thanks a lot for any help.
 
i have some black plastic one i got from frozencpu.com over a year ago, it gets dirty after like 2 weeks. then i just scrub it with a brillo or whatever.
