Hey guys, I just got my mobo and CPU back from being RMA'ed and I put them in my computer and put it all together. Now, I turn it on and it works just like before they both fried except I can't use my Logitech mouse?! When I plug it into any USB port, the led light in the mouse wont even light up... When I plug it into the PS/2 port the mouse will light up but I still can't move it on the screen. In the lower right corner of XP it says New Hardware Found : USB Logitech Mouse... Anyone know what I should do? Thanks for the help, I haven't had my computer for over a month and I am itching to play Battlefield!

youll need to install the drivers, (sorry had to edit, 3 am and gettin sleepy :)) let windows install it and see how it turns out.

If it won't even light up when plugged into USB, you might have dead onboard USB ports. I had that happen to a computer at my work, one day the printer started acting up and it was because the USB ports were dying, then they just stopped workign all together.

Although that doesn't necessarily explain why it won't work with PS2, but i think the problem with PS2 is driver related...

alright, i have tried multiple mouses and i am still not able to use my mouse... this is a brand new abit nf7-s that i just rma'ed from newegg and i really dont want to have to rma again just for a little problem like this... i really need some help guys! my two front usb ports dont work with the mouse either... i am going to try to use a camera to put pictures on my computer through a usb port and see if it recognizes it...

EDIT: The camera is recognized when I put it in one of my USB ports on the back of the case that is directly connected to my motherboard.

In some cases a ps/2 mouse needs to be connected before you boot. So make sure you're not trying to plug it in while windows is loaded. usb will still need drivers,

alright, so if i do usb until i get drivers installed for the usb mouse then it wont work probably? let me try it real quick

before a usb mouse will work the driver needs to be installed/loaded.

YES!!!!! THE PS/2 will work, I am going to install drivers for my motherboard and mouse now... Thank you so much Wixard! It was actually a pretty simple problem, I am just a newb though, lol
