Hi, I'm not too sure whether it's appropriate to start the thread here but I guess this is probably THE place in [H] for something like this.

Basically I'm planning to do modding work for mices. I currently have a logitech MX400 which has the body I absolutely loved to death. However, the LASER engine for the thing sucked so much that I'd rather use a RX250 (an optical mouse) for gaming.

So I've been thinking, could I possibly move the internals sensor RX250 to the MX400, but keeping everything else the same?

I'd love to take apart the mouses, but I really don't know where to start. I don't have any electronic knowledge so things might get problematic.

Has anyone done or read anything about modding mouse internals?
 
Hmm, unfortunately, transplanting a mouse optical driver will be no easy task... I really don't think this is doable without a bunch of custom made parts...
 
If you don't have any electronics experience, that doesn't help, lol. Just take a good picture of the internals when you take it apart so you know where everything goes back to if you mess it up. :p
 
Go to google and type in Metku Mods.

Those guys are experienced in modding everything from mice to monitors to tvs & computers.
