built a new pc recently, but i'm having problems with the mouse led not turning off when i turn the pc off. tried 2 different mouses with leds on them and had the same problem.

MSI K7N2GM2-LSR mobo
cheap 350w power supply

is this problem fixable or am i goning to need to send it back?

unplug pc, problem solved hehe.
I have the same problem on my comp and my mx blah blah....don't worry bout it cause its not going to do any harm. I mean really, it would take like 2 years min to burn an op out and by then you will have bout another mouse.

Is your mouse connected via PS2 or USB? When my mouse is connected through the PS2 adaptor, strangley my mouse will stay on even after power off. But if I connected my mouse through USB, my mouse turns off after power down. Give it a try.

Cheers.

Can it be something to do with the power on by mouse/keyboard function in the BIOS?

what brand of board do you have? On many newer boards there is a bios setting which allows a mouse (or keyboard) to power up the system. for example, to turn on my pc i type "awake". Look around the bios in power options for a mention of the mouse turning on the system; disable it. or as coffee33 suggests: unplug.

umm, it wont shut off unless you unplug or switch off the power supply

it supposed to stay on
