mouse acceleration

Is there anyway to enable mouse acceleration in games such as painkiller and ut2k4? I'm running windows xp, and i've been using xp's default mouse acceleration for half life games and it's working great. I tried installing the logitech mouse drivers but that doesn't seem to work either :(

Well me being the gamer that i am, i never use acceleration in games. As every game calculates differantly, unless its the same engine. Plus it decreases your accuracy. Try and find the level that you like within the games own settings and see how that works for you.

Also what kind of mouse do you have? If its a Logitech you may be intrested in this software called LogiGamer, it does require the .NET framework however. I don't notice an issue having it installed (and yes only for this app). All i can say is, wow, talk about some configuration options :) You will find acceleration/tracking/accuracy options within this program, much better than logitech's own. LogiGamer is to be used in conjunction with logi's drivers, so don't uninstall them.

Cheers.

I recently switched to mouse acceleration actually. It's great having a low sensitivity with mouse acceleration, makes it much easier in cs. Btw I tried that mouseware thing, it doesn't seem to work
All games calculate the acceleration differen'tly? :( or maybe the game just calculates your mouse sensitivity differently? so once you set it to a certain sensitivity you get the same acceleration? And.. what's a .net framework? I noticed the logigamer page says mx500 mx700 etc mice, I only have a basic optical logitech mouse with a scroll wheel though. Will it still work?

thanks for the fast replies

.NET Framework from microslosh, you have to have this installed in order for the software to work. Sounds to me like you just went to the site, dl'd the proggy, installed then realised it didn't work. Now i want you to go back and actually read the info that is posted. Everything that you need to know is there.

As for the second question, yes, i believe so. I just don't think you can use the added button functionality, but don't quote me on that.

On an added note, if you game alot, you might wanna think about upgraded your mouse. As the dpi rating on the one that you are using is very low for an optical gaming mouse, and the added buttons really do make a differance.

Cheers.

ah, it seems to be working now, thanks. Looks like you were right  the acceleration in cs is a bit higher than in other games, but better than nothing :D
and yeah, i'm going to buy a new mouse soon. It does mess up quite a lot when i move it too fast, which is one of the reasons why i need acceleration, so i could do 180's on a low sensitivity without my mouse jacking up

No, you just need a higher dpi mouse. If you can, try and get an MX510. It has 800dpi, basicly means that you can't move the mouse faster than it can track.

Cheers.
