Mounting H50 properly?

i just read this link and im a bit worried maybe this is why my temps suck?? I had the h50 on my 1156 socket mobo (silver pins in 1156 sockets) and left it like that when i mounted it to my 1155 socket mobo i dont get it should i switch to 1366??

the seating may be off, maybe there is too much thermal grease, maybe your case airflow is off. The bolt pattern for the LGA 1155 and 1156 are identical so I do not think it has to do with the actual socket at all. Granted it may be a faulty temp sensor but that's unlikely. The only thing I can suggest is to try a single drop of compound on the chip, then put the fans to max and see if it makes a difference.
