what do u guys think of them .. they are like the ultimate watercool cases .. but even for aircooling they are extremely spacious .. im thinking bout getting one with plans to watercool shortly after

Go for it, I love mine. Nothing like tons of room to install just about anything you like.

The one thing I dont like about those cases is the footprint they require. For the average sized desk there really is not much room for them thus you have to put them on the floor. Its not that I dont like big cases, I have a TT Armor myself that is on the floor, but for the foot print it has I can have 2 TT Armor cases in the same amount of space and for about the same price.

But they are very nice, high qualtiy cases.

problem is i wouldnt be able to watercool for a month or 2 .. so i dont know what fans i could run in there .. its gotta be quiet lol

Just install whatever fans you plan on using with your water cooling and connect them to a fan controler like Bio did. That should make for a pretty quiet system.

Looks great there Bio, love my U2-UFO as well. Great cases. Footprint is not what one worries about buying this case. It is like none other and much more unique than two Armors sitting next to each other. In any case the room you get goes without saying. The two computers with watercooling inside my U2-UFO speak for itself. Highly reccomend the case if you want so much room and a case that isnt in most people's computer lab. Great stuff...

beautiful case ..

well im limited on cases cuz of my psu .. its the 1k pcpc one .. so its pretty big ..
well i would like the ufo case but with all acrylic side panels and top .. total is like 9 x120s .. so i would need basically 2-3 fan controllers lol ..

as for watercooling .. i would just get the triple thermochill rad .. should be enough to cool a opty 170 and dual gtxs ?

i would prolly get an all black one .. but not sure

how long is the wait on one of these cases ? also would u pick it over say the silverstone TJ07?

You can get the Yeoung Yang 021 for about half the price of the Mountain Mods case...the form factor is pretty much the same. You do have to mod in your own windows though.

not the same size at all .. its the space and the layout which make the mm cases so great

I will admit that I went a little overboard on the cooling, but hey, I had the room.......

That must be the understatement of the year Bio. Good lord. I am cooling an FX-57 overclocked and overvolted with a SINGLE BlackICE Pro (not the double length - SINGLE length just over 120mm in diameter radiator) and 2X120mm fans in push pull. And it stays about 35C. And my system won the Quakecon 2005 performance challenge so you cant need more than that in cooling unless you were going phase, which would be a better use of space really. Why are you needing those humongous rads for? I had to laugh at the incredible usage of space not to mention money. It looks great though, just didnt think it had to be that bad. Plus you can ditch the reservoir completely as you have about 10 gallons of liquid in those lines combined (joking of course, but still dont need the reservoir at all - just a T-line to indicate filled and catch air in lines if any). Dont take any of this the wrong way, not trying to hate, just trying to help, not that I think you need it, but curious.

Only other thing I noticed was the complete adsence of most any HD save the 1 80GB.... Interesting use of a huge case.... I do like it though.

:D Just in case you're wondering, Bio is my step dad.............. :D He saw this and made me edit it. Says if he wants to give reasons behind his build, he'll do it...........

now my decision is limited to the MM U2UFO or the Silverstone TJ07 .. i guess it comes down to do i want a conventional case or a cube ..

they are the same price pretty much

Yes nice work Bio, Ive seen it lots and it never gets old :)

Off topic: How that psu?

Man i could take my Tig welder and make one for like 50 bucks...

They are expensive, that's for sure............ :D I really like the silverstone also, I'm hoping to get one in the near future and I was going to give the cube to my step son cause he has a ton of HD's. But he has a problem of sticking his nose where it doesn't belong, so now he'll have to wait a bit longer. You'll be happy with either case IMHO............

He obviously did it so he could hold alchohol in the resevoir. Notice he said 40 oz?

well if i decide to watercool down the road the mm case will be the easiest to do it in

also which top do u guys like the original with the 2x120 blowholes ..

or the no blowholes ..

Yes, the price is kinda high. I just ordered the smaller sibling Twice7 Cube. I received the brushed aluminum over the weekend and I am returning it tomorrow for the black powder coat finished. The brush aluminum was rough on the edges, mountain mods did not even smooth them out. I am hoping the black finish is more smoother than the brushed aluminum. Will post pics as soon as I get it.

I would go with no blowholes as I did as well. They are annoying to take the cover off and have to deal with wires attached to the top. If you go the seperated top way, then you can get around that issue, but I also think the fans with windows detract from the viewing into the casing which is the whole point of the windows if in use. Other than going no windows of course.

For me, powdercoating wasnt an option as I bought the case when it wasnt an option, but if going to leave the case stock, I would consider the powdercoating option. If you plan on modifying the outside at all, remember that you will cut and expose casing.

I made changes to the case design anyways so I guess it worked out for me. I also hand polished the case inside and out to make it looked chromed. If you look at the picture I posted above it is hard to tell because nothing was around to reflect, but if you look closely at the front, that is the concrete floor you see on the whole front of the case, not a brushed aluminum finish. You can kind of makeout the concrete patterns of light brown and such in the face... Looks great in person. I have also considered just having it chromed but thought the self done DIY polish would be more rewarding and it was...

Very fun cases to make your own...
