Hi there, I just built myself a new SFF but I've been getting consistent temperature warnings from my motherboard. The temperature when I start the computer usually starts around 30C but fluctuates between 40-47C normally, when the alarm is triggered. This is just using email, word docs, etc. Everything is running at stock settings, and I have not overclocked it yet. Should this be a cause for concern, or is it just a case of an alarm threshold set too low by default?

I have an Asus P5L-MX (945G, mATX) motherboard running in an Apevia X-Qpack case. The motherboard is passively cooled; besides the PS and CPU fans, there is one large 120mm stock fan at the back that should provide pretty adequate cooling I would think. Also I have very few wires and no expansion boards installed so there is no obstruction of airflow. My room is pretty hot, about 25C on average so that could be an issue but I still shouldn't think so. By comparison, my CPU only runs around 38C on idle and the HD about 34C.

Any insight you could give me is very appreciated.
 
I have the same board.Go to the asus forum every pl5 mx has that problem
its still a great board just heats up very fast so it might not last five or six years. I read that the sensor is in the place and the north brigde cooling isnt sufficiant. I found more info at the asus forums then here.
