Best bet is to hope someone on the board can ship some to you. I buy 6/32 standoffs from Mcmaster, but that is in the US and won't help you much.

I'm in the U.S. so I just used google to find it.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/ On the left nav bar search for "m3 standoff" It's like the 4th one down.

Site has frames so I can't link you directly. Those are 4mm though. Do you really need the 8.5mm ones?

Jeez...the only 8.5mm ones I found were here. Couldn't find them at any other U.S. store unless I totally missed them. I think they take international orders...

The 8.5mm ones seem kind of rare.

I am drilling hole in a case I am modding, drilled the hole too big on a few standoffs, not sure of the drill bit size to use, or tap to use to thread these holes. I tried to drill the hole, tap the hole, but it seems as I put the standoff in the threaded hole, it turns and turns, then never gets tight.

If you're using the right drill bit and tap the only reason I can see why it wouldn't grab would be that the metal is too thin and the tapped hole gets stripped that easily.

I think the thread size for those suckers are 6/32" so something like this would make things easier. I'm not familar with those drill and tap bits, I use the hand taps. Maybe someone else can verify because I may be wrong.

Oh and I'm not too sure about what kind of coarse these standoffs use.

Yeh i noticed they are well hard to come by, i defo do need the 8.5mm ones. As for threading I too found the metal too thin, so i just added some m3 size nuts below the standoffs and that solved the problem.

Cheers for the link m8, i'll get some of those ordered :D

T01-WIRE :: 25 DOLLAR WIRE TRANSFER FEE 1 $25.00
UPS Worldwide $48.40

Perhaps not.....

$8 worth of components, and the rest is charges.

Well never mind, anyone in the US fancy doing me a small favour ;) ?

Cheers

To answer your question about the drill taps, I am using Hand taps for the Motherboard standoffs, the metal is thicker, and I was using the small brass MB standoffs, not sure about other types of standoffs.

Wow hahah.

I suppose I could order them for you and ship them to you. USPS global priority is pretty cheap I think. When do you need them by? PM me all your address info so I can see how much the shipping would be. Then you could paypal me some funds and I'd just use my paypal debit card to order them and pay for the shipping to you.

UK Rates http://pe.usps.gov/text/Imm/immicl/immicleg_021.html Look under Global Priority Mail

Just depends which zone you're under. I doubt that box of hardware is more than .5 lb.
