Does anyone know where I can get a good price on some motherboard risers and possibly some case screws. I'm working on a project and don't have any computers I can cannabalize. I can't find any on any of the big hardware sites. Would it be better to search locally? Anyone had any luck at a particular brick and mortar retailer?

Try CyberGuys I ordered from them before and they ship quick and have good prices on the little things like screws and standoffs (what your calling Motherboard risers) when you get to the site click on PC Components > Small Hardware > Motherboard Standoffs or look around and see if they have any thing else you want
I would probably just walk down to any mom and pop computer shop and ask for some. They should have a bunch of misc small parts from building computers. Or if you can't find one, checkout any in-house PC service department, like bestbuy or compusa...
