Motherboard questions

no,one or the other.sli and crossfire are not supported on the same board.maybe in the future it wont be that way but for now its crossfire or sli not together.
 
unfortunately it will be one or the other. you have to choose SLI or Crossfire, and never the twain shall meet...

also, with Crossfire you need a "Master" card, where as with nVidia (6x00 and 7x00 series), you can just buy two of the same models (6800GS x 2 or 7600GT x 2) manufacturers can be different.

i understand nVidia and ATI wanting to apppear to possess superior technology, but the end-user/consumer is the one who gets diminished choices with the only option being either/or. then you are limited to nVidia or Crossfire because of MoBo...

It would be very sweet if you could just get a motherboard knowing you could use gF or Radeon's. obviously not mix the cards, but then decide which you wanted, and upgrade or change to the other later if you so choose....
