I am currently running a system with Albatron PX865PEC PRO, manufacturer's site HERE and I am having some issue that I didn't have before I got this board. Previously I had a Gigabyte GA-8IHXP with 1 gig of Rambuss and playing Battlefield 2 was no sweat. So my Gigabyte mobo fries and I slap in the Albatron with 2 gigs of PC 3200 expecting performance to be par if not a little better given the more system memory but I am not. I have to run Battlefield 2 at lower settings and I experience slowdown where I will be playing and the screen pauses for a millisecond, then catches up and snaps back into motion. Very annoying. I also play a good bit of Half-Life 2 as well, cant say I notice anything wrong going on there, but there might be an fps loss and i just cant detect it. Someone told me its the chipset and the way it handles the memory in the mobo that I have, but I dunno if I believe that. I haven't updated the bios yet and I don't know if I should. The latest BIOS update only has a one line description, "improves memory compatibility." I am not sure if incompatibility is my problem. Are there any know issues with this mobo/chipset? If so are there any fixes? I am running all the latest drivers for all my hardware.
