Motherboard hardrive specs

Since mobos can only handle 137gb per channel or whatever, is that 137 per cable or 137 per connecter?

Also apartently XP SP1 allows for more?

Assuming your motherboard is fairly recent, XP SP1 will load a driver that allowes the controller to see the whole drive.

Many people complain about this, but you should haven't a system partition that large anyway. If this is a single disk in your system, make a 60 GB C drive, and then load XP. Once you have SP1 loaded, format the rest of the drive as D.

So then I could use my primary hdd (80 gig) for my xp and main files (game ect) make a 20gb partition for linux off the 200 giger and another 80 gig partition for everything else which gives me.

Yeah, it should. During the XP setup, just create the partition for your C drive....nothing else.

I already have xp installed on my 80 giger so Ill just be formatting this once i get it.
