Im building a new system, and after getting everything all hooked up, and ready to go, i hit the power button, the fans spin up, but then nothing else happens. There is no output to the monitor, and no post.

The motherboard is a ASUS A7N8X-E.

We've tried using different graphics card (current one is a 9800 pro), and we have also tried using the cpu from another system, but with no luck. (CPU thats in it now is a Barton 3000+)

I'm pretty sure the ram works..., but i'm not sure if you will get output to the monitor if the ram is dead.

Any ideas as to what might be wrong, or what I forgot to do? (Maybe some weird power connector needs to be connected? As far as I can tell there is only one power connector to mobo)

Im also positive that the PSU works because ive tried it in anther system.

Thanks in advance.

Try resetting the BIOS, swapping the video card out, try another mobo, or booting up with the bare minimum (cpu/mobo/1 stick of ram/ video card). If you are still not getting any beep codes I would say the board is dead. The same thing happened to me once.

Double check jumpers and connections, make sure the board isnt shorting, other than that swap componants and go from there.

That just happened to my old crappy system in my sig. Swapped about everything out, pretty sure mine is my MB. Sucks when that happens to brand new stuff.

Only thing I can suggest, take it out and lay it on a table. Make sure the ram you are using works fine in another machine. Swap out one piece of equipment each time, and keep retrying it till everything has been swapped. Try the equipment you are using to test with another machine's MB. If it works with the other MB, youve almost certianly got a dead board.
