Hey all,

I'm trying to build an new pc. When i push the power button the CPU fan and PS fan both spin for half a second and then shuts off. i have used an known working PS to test the set up and achieved the same results. So i'm guessing it must be a bad motherboard?

It is either the front pin arrangment is not set up correctly, which i'm 95% sure its correct. White pins are negative and colored ones are postive. What i'm not sure about is that one of the front LED ,green and white, pin has a dongle connection on the end. But I'm thinking that shouldn't really make a difference.

Currently I only have the CPU, PS, MB, 1 stick of ram (2GB), and front pins connected together. And i'm still only getting 0.5 sec of power.

Is there anything else I should try before I declare the MB dead?

Thank you all :)

Well as long as you are using the right pins you can.t hook up the power switch backwards.

Anyway to me it sounds like the board is shorting out on your case somewhere. I would pull it from the case and see if you can get it to post while set up out side of the case.
