During the recent hot days that we've had here in Michigan I've run into a problem with my computer. Mind you that this is my main computer (of 3) and most definetely the most ventilated.

Specs:
Supermicro SC760 case (modded with a paint job and windows on the sides)
Fans: All fans are Sunon mid-speed (or equivalent)
3 x 80mm Fans in the bottom front (intake)
2 x 92mm fans in the side window (intake)
2 x 92mm Blowhole fans (exhaust)
1 x 80mm Above the PS (exhaust)
Enermax 350w PS
MSI K7N2Delta-L
XP 2400+ (not OC'ed due to current issues)
Thermalright SK-6 w/ Delta 7k fan
2 x 512MB Crucial
AbsoluteMM GeForce 3
Windows 2000 SP4

Lately I've been having problems while gaming (only on hot days) where if it needs to load a new zone the computer SHUTS DOWN. Like complete power-off. It just goes to load the new zone, sits there for a few secs and then powers down. I had mbm5 monitoring (and logging to another computer w/ 2 sec intervals) and the temps were hovering around the 55C range until right before it shut off when I had one reading of 59C. Now I know that the temp should not be that high, but I wouldn't really expect it to just shut off like that either. I was also watching the voltages which seemed to fluctuate quite frequently (I think that Enermax PS is probably part of the problem.)

The main reason that I find the hard crashing at those temps strange is because my other 2 computers are running in that range and also running rock solid stable. Hell, my utility computer which I used mostly as a mule/server/backup/crap computer which only has a couple case fans and a halfass heatsink on the proc (amd 1.4) is never shut off and has been running stable for months and on the first day I was having problems with my main computer I could've nearly fried an egg on top of the case and it was still stable.

Seriously considering a new PS, but would like a antec 550 w/ voltage adjustment, just so that I have something that will last a while and can handle a lot of power drain.

I think there is some wierd voodoo going on in my case, maybe related to the fact that I've now had 3 or 4 different motherboards in it and it just wants to piss me off some days.

I would imagine the powersupply is overheating, because im pretty sure most modern processors only start experiencing heat damage at 70c+ (except for teh prescott) So i doubt that your computer would turn off at just 59c.
 
My bios actually doesn't have a option for a shutdown setpoint, only an option for the audible temperature alarm. I've tried moving that setting around, but it didn't do anything.
