What about Service Pack 1a? all it did was modify 2 registry keys and delete microsofts Java VM, forcing you to use suns!

I have no idea what .NET framework is yet I still download it to compensate for my insecurity.

.Net is a programming framework, similar to the old school VB runtimes. It is usueless until you come across software that uses it. Then it's a necessity.
