list.. got so use to it in the old days with small monitors that i cant use anything else.. also loads explorer windows faster if theres a lot of pictures/video's..

I have a lot of images and videos so it's Large thumbnails by default. Otherwise, it's in details mode.

Depends on the folder of course. MP3 would be in music folder mode, pictures would be large thumbnails, work documents would be details so I can see the dates and sizes, etc. So, no clear winner vote for me.

usually detail view, but with video or picture folders, thumbnails. I love the quick sort ability of detail view to allow you to quickly locate by different methods.

Having said that, I love the Win7 start->search function. Use it all the time :)

Depends on the contents of my folders. And then I change again if I decide to use the preview plane. No clear answer for me.

List. When I'm browsing files, I want to see files, not metadata. I do use large icons for my movie folders, though.

I use mostly List view, occasionally Detail. List view is fast, and you get the most files in the Window.

I use list almost always. Otherwise I use details if I want to see dates, etc.

details for sure :) (for most folder types)

I like being able to sort by date created/modified, file name, type, etc.

details. i'd use icons or tiles if it had more info.
