Well we (maybe) all know the VIA Mini-ITX mainboards and the lack of performance of the VIA cpu's but it really looks like that the Mini-ITX formfactor is getting interesting for users that need some more performance:

But what about this DFI board with PCIe x16 and PCIe x1:
