Most powerful GPU that can be passively cooled?

I am in the market for a new video card and want to know what the most powerful card is that can still be passively cooled with one of the heatpipe kits.

I dont need it to be super top top of the line, if it can play the standard Doom3/HL2 junk thats all I care about.

note: i am buidling a complete new system. This card is not for system in sig
 
The R300 core can be with a Zalman heatpipe. (9700 Pro)

I'd assume the 9800 Pro/XT could be also. But they'd be very hot and you probably couldn't OC them at all.
 
I've also seen some Radeon 9600 Non-pros that come passively cooled from the factory.
 
that zalman deal that fits on the 9800 but has a small fan on the side is excellent. so ive heard errrr.. not heard..

unless you sit within about 6 inches of your case it would be hard to hear.

but seriously though the trick with fans is larger and slower. the smaller the fan the higher/whinier the pitch. the low hard drive hum is no biggie and i have 2x120 mid speed fans that i cant hear over my hard drives.

of course i have the 2x120 attached to radiotor and use a silent water pump. here are my silent system specs

a64 3200 @2.6
6800gt 440/1100

the only thing i can are my hard drives. and my maxtor 80gig makes almost no writing noise.

i spend most of my time on my computer thinking. so the noise isnt a big deal while you are gaming. but its not as much fun to look for a porn star who looks just like your 4th grade teacher oddly, but with a 4 whistling fans in your ears
 
Any current crop of GPU once the new Arctic Cooling Silencer 4 hits the stores :p Not silent but quiet enough you will have to worry about other components' noise before it.
 
The fastest things I've seen passively cooled from the factory are 9600NPs and 5700s (or was it a 5600...).
 
Get a 9000-9800 Pro and use the VGA Silencer, on low you can't hear it at all.
