Isn’t he on Mixer now? I remember reading an article recently that said bringing him over to Mixer did nothing for the platform and his viewership is now only a tiny fraction of what it was a year ago when he peaked.
I equate him to those music artists that have one good hit (in his case Fortnite) that keeps them in the spotlight for a year or two. But in 5 years they’ll be forgotten.
I can't believe it be 50 million. Then again it is MS. They like to burn money on stupid shit. I would of taken the money. Cause you are right. As the video showed streamers do drop off after a few years. Many of those stream weren't making nearly as much as Ninja was. That reason is why it was a good idea for him to take the deal. Careers like this can be very fleeting, so if someone (in this case Mixer) wanted to give him a guarantee that would set him for life (it's been reported as 50m dollars) with much less pressure why would you not take it?
I’d believe it. It’s rumored to only be a 3 year contract too, so basically $16.7m/year. But I think MS missed the mark with Ninja and picked him up on the tail end of his popularity. It did nothing for the platform but Ninja was smart to take it as he fizzles out of the spot light. Hopefully he won’t blow all his money to try and stay relevant or to quell his emotions for becoming largely irrelevant again like many one hit wonders do.I can't believe it be 50 million.
