Question about your MSI 890FXA-GD70 Motherboard Review in regards to the Phenom II X6 1055T. You mentioned that you got it to 3.9Ghz while using a water cooler. How far would you recommend taking said CPU on air?

Gratzie :D

I've got my 1055t at 3.8ghz with a Xigmatech HDT S1283 cooler, 1.40 vcore. Using an Asus 890gx board in my signature. Lynx or Intel Burn Test temperatures are around 50c to 55c, depending on how hot ambient is. :p

I can get to the magical 4.0ghz, but that last 200mhz seems to take a lot more voltage to get stable than its worth.

As far as you can with your setup and the system run stable. Good luck. You are the only one that can answer your question.

it depend on what you are using pc for and how much money u r looking to spend.

Mine is running at 3.6GHz stable on air. I haven't even tried pushing it any further yet. My initial goal was to get it running all 6 cores above the Turbo clock speed.

In a couple months when I can get a decent case and reseat my heatsink I'm hoping to get 3.8-4.0GHz on air.

What happened to my thread? :'(

It doesn't show up in it's location anymore. Thanks.

Threads on forums are listed by the last post date - the date/time the last post in a given thread was made. So, considering that the last post before yours today was AudioCow on Friday at about 12:31PM Pacific time (that's how I see it since I'm in the Pacific time zone) it "falls" down the list. The only threads that remain "stuck" are stickies, hence the name, and they'll appear at the top of the first page of threads when you open a subforum (the AMD Processors one is a subforum of the main [H]ardForum itself, actually a sub-subforum since it sits inside the [H]ardWare subforum...)

Not too complicated but... just takes some time to learn how forums work I suppose. You'll get it...

Umm... I know how threads in forums work. There aren't enough threads in this topic to knock this thread to another page. It just disappears for some reason. I have to go into my history to find it again. I have been posting in forums for many years and have never seen one do this before. But... umm... thanks?.. for the feedback?..

I noticed the thread disappearance thing too.. You can still search & pull them up, my guess is its based on time since last post.

it didnt disapear.. AMD sub forum is set to only show threads posted in within the last 24 hours.. at the bottom of the page change it to 2 days or 1 week and boom most of them re-appear.. so much for your posting on forums for years otherwise ya would of noticed that..

and btw the 1055T can do 4ghz.. just depends on how much your willing to spend on cooling and how well you know how to overclock a phenom II..
