Morrowind Hardware Sound Format Question.

I have been playing Morrowind for the past few months and I have been running onboard sound on my main gaming rig (ALC655 yuck). Now, I'm going to throw my Hercules Fortissimo III in my rig and I was wondering what format Morrowind uses for hardware sound. If you all could LMK I'd be much obliged. Thanks much.
 
I'm not sure what it uses, but I've got an Audigy 1 and 5.1 speakers, and the sound in Morrowind was mixed into 5.1 for me.

Hot damn, I love 5.1 surround sound in games :D
 
Well, anyone willing to give it a try? I've been looking through the Bethesda Softworks web site and the Morrowind web site as well as reading reviews, so far I have not found the format. Argh!

BTW Morrowind is the best RPG ever! Can't wait until Oblivion is released. :D
