I'm about to just go out and buy a new sound card considering that it's almost impossible to get a mic working right on it and now this. Whenever I play BF2, something in my sound gets messed up. If I go play WoW, most of the sound effects don't show up. I can't hear weapons being drawn, my pet's sound effects, the roar of my mount when I summon it, the various sounds of mobs around me, etc. Anybody know what this is from? If I reboot my computer it works fine.
 
The TBSC is an old enough card, with poor enough driver support, that a soundcard upgrade would be pretty well considered. Depending on your budget, the Audigy 2 Value would be a good start.

what kinda budget are you on? What kinda speakers do you have? The Audigy 2 is what you want if you want EAX in games, but the HDA has on the fly DD out if you are using a reciever based sound system.
EDIT: These are the only 2 soundcards I have used myself, but there are more out there that may fit your machine better. I cant really comment on cards I havent used.
 
I'd like to keep it $50 or under. I hav e 5.1 Logitech x530 speakers. I'd like something with decent sound quality, but as long as it works fine and doesn't give me problems and sounds reasonably well, I'm happy.
