More RAM?

Here are my factory specs....

I really have two questions:

1. Why is the max RAM 1GB? What makes that the max? Could I do anything to increase that?

2. I have already upgraded to 1GB from 512MB (via 512MB X 2). Would I see any increase in performance by going with just one 1GB rather than two 512MB?

not sure why it lists 1gb max.. perhaps the memory controller doesn't support 1gb sticks, but that seems unlikely. what do you do with your system? for most things 1gb is still plenty

Gaming and burning of music and DVD's. I would love to pop in another 512MB or so.
