Over at Anandtech there is a story about the upcoming AMD road map.

One interesting tidbit is that the G2012 socket is on hold and C32 and G34 will be getting Piledriver based CPUs. No changes in core count still a max of 8 on C32 and 16 on G34 I'm loving the lifespan of the platform. Basically we'll be able to keep pounding away on these boards for another 2 years.

Now we just need to hope that Piledriver actually delivers on the supposed IPC improvements over Bulldozer.

This is good news.

Takes the sting out of the price tag for these G34 boards.

Oh yeah. AMD's server failures seem to work out nicely for folders.

except they really aren't failing in the server market, lol. with G2012 being delayed it should help them even more since server companies now know C32/G34 will still be around for a few more years.

I don't know man, haha. This 8P is still holding its own against G34 with CPU's from 2009 and a board that was first released in 2006... 514K-540K PPD. Old school big block AMD iron.

See, that's what some of us are hoping: that our 4Ps will potentially have such a, long productive life as your 8P.
