LOL I kinda like this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.0

hopefully it isn't premined to hell and market cornered by the developers like earthcoin. Anybody with something toss a bit into it once its up and sit on the coins for a couple weeks. I keep doing this with oddball new coins and they've been paying off pretty well

Interesting premise. Almost looks like DOGE v2 minus the hype at the moment. Large block reward, short block time, etc.

I'm not really a big gambler, so I'll wait until I see it on an exchange before seeing if it's worth mining or not. The same goes for CATcoin, PlutoCoin, etc. Too many to keep track of.

and by then its too late ;) gathering the millions on day one is the way to go and just crossing your fingers. Some may not make it to a real exchange but even the crappy ones like where I sold my EAC actually work so no big deal

No, not too late at all. Again, I'm not a gambling type. I want to know that my day of mining a certain coin is going to pay off. That's why I've been only mining alt coins that are pretty much mainstream I guess you could call them. Stuff that's on an exchange (or multiples thereof), has high enough volume so that I'm not sitting there for days waiting for my sell order to fill, and at a decent price. I will take that any day rather than mining a few hundred/thousand/million/billion/trillion/quadrillion extra of a certain coin just to be able to sell then for a whopping extra $20.

Judging from some of your past posts, it appears you're a bit more of a gambler than I am. I continue to wish you luck in these endeavors and hope that it all continues to pay off for you. I mean that sincerely. :)

that one....

the reason why i say too late is this:
Blocks 1-100,000: 0-2,000,000 MOON
Blocks 100,001-200,000: 0-1,000,000 MOON

You could mine like an hour and call it good with those kind of payouts

Right now with over 7Mh LTC should profit about $1500/mnth after power and middlecoin has been not much over that so i'm pointing some back to ltc for now since i'm out of ltc right now. i'll push my juice at the new coins when they hit and cross my fingers

I'll be jumping on mooncoin for the first few days as well, get a bunch to sit on and then return to doge. I think there's a good following with doge so far and that may translate into profits.

It's looking less likely that it's premined. Just goldrushed to hell.

As in everyone with hash power out the yin yang has gotten in early and raised the difficulty to beyond profitable levels for everyone else? Is that what you mean by "goldrushed"?

yes.... I have like 100k sitting here but I think I'm gonna call it good but middlecoin has gotten goofy. ltcrabbit posted a bounty for guys mining with them that I'm thinking about putting a couple of the machines towards to get the BONUS 3 LTC since LTC is the only coin I trust long term other than BTC

Problem was the dev behind mooncoin listed clearly in the thread that there would be no increase in difficulty for some amount of hours from the start (8?) in order to give people an opportunity to mine. This was not the case, as difficulty rose immediately.

I think if it didn't then we could have had the whole thing mined in those 8 hours LOL

There are two types of difficulty retargets. Time retargets and block retargets. The latter kicks in at certain block count intervals regardless of the time to try to prevent exactly what happened from happening. The coin was goldrushed, as expected, and the first 1500 blocks were basically instamined causing a block difficulty retarget.

The only thing we can accuse this (and just about every altcoin dev) of is not understanding the technology they are working with.

So the dev lied about premined coins? Scam flag raised

no, within minutes of it being up there was a level of power on it that was just not expected. I haven't seen any real proof of a premine. I've seen proof more of an instamine. The developer certainly doesn't seem to know much at all which makes the coin crap anyway.

multipool continues to have a ton of power on this and middlecoin continues to have a massive backlog of coins not cashed out. I left middlecoin and jumped on multipool with 5Mh to test them out. Its mostly doge with small amounts of random other coins and I have to cash them out myself. I think I'll pay the .1% to cryptsy for auto exchange on deposit for things like DOGE but some of those other coins I might have to hold just to put a stash into my gambling bin

Not so much a premine scamcoin but what I'd call a "noob dev" vulture coin. This was a pump & dump coin, plain and simple, and the dev may or may not have had good intentions, but he got had from the get-go.

I also stopped using middlecoin for the time being. I figured I'd try out some of the other coins and see how well I do, since middlecoin seemed to be less than optimal for some reason.

middlecoin is clearly doing something goofy with a weird unexchangeable coin. Possibly mooncoin? Possibly something I missed that recently launched that I didn't pay attention to....

I'm not sure what my next move is so I have some pointed at LTC but I might force multi pool into wordlcoin because there seems to be a nice chunk of power consistently on WDC and I didn't really see a pool that really stuck out to me for WDC

wdc.nut2pools.com

Has a decent hash rate for the pool. The pool operator seems very on top of his game... he runs more than one pool and is very conscious about things like server capacity and whatnot.

I also use his DOGE pool too for the same reasons.

various coins are large enough that putting everything into a single thread is simply not a good idea. I'm guessing you are implying to put every single conversation related to altcoins into that single thread? Thats stupid. If you want things more orderly for the folders and others have a MINING forum created for us and we'll gladly move over there. a single THREAD for multiple conversations is just bad.
