I went to the Montana State Fair in Great Falls, armed with my new camera. The only decent pictures that I was able to snap was those of the horses in the livestock section. I think that these that I picked out were the best of the bunch. I only did minor photochopping, mainly sharpening, reducing noise, and levels ona few of them. These are resized to 640x480 from 3264x2448 for your viewing pleasure. Used my Canon Powershot Pro 1, stock flash, no extra lense.
1) I like this one because the mule was eating and had his ears straight up.

2) I had read that shooting subjects off-center makes for a better picture. With the horse's head turned, I think it goes along those lines.

3) The bars add a good effect in this picture, and I am still pondering the effect of the 'red eye." I couldn't get rid of it.

4) Once again, the bars in this picture add a mellow mood to the picture.

5) This was the best out of the bunch, hands down. All I did was some simple layers adjusting.

I obtained a trial of Photoshop CS2, so I am messing around with it a little bit with these pictures.
