Back home (canada) for the holidays a I just bought a new PSU and monitor to bring back as prices are much better here than in the UK. Now I need to buy new power cables. They call them mains leads, "kettle leads". The only decent place I can find them online is amazon. Does the UK have a good site for cables like monoprice? Is their any difference between the £2 leads and the £25 options.

Give http://cpc.farnell.com/ a go, they do tonnes of stuff like that, I imagine an IEC lead (i.e. a kettle lead) would be about £4.

As for the difference between a £2 and a £25 lead...my bet is that there's no real difference other than maybe the packaging and perhaps slightly higher quality materials but I've bought tonnes of cheap stuff from CPC and it's all been spot on.
