There are some nice deals on monitors on Ebay, especially on Dells. Does Dell give you any hassle about warranties if you buy from Ebay? Also, whats the lowest the Dell 24" goes on sale for when Dell does their super sales.. Thanks..
 
When I called about an issue with my 2007FPW (which turned out to be a mistake in the "user guide") I don't remember being asked where I purchased it from. But of course I bought it directly from Dell so maybe they can tell by the serial number..

They can definitely tell by the service tag or serial number. Each time I ask for tech support on our Dell laptop or desktop, they tell me straight away if it is located in XXX, road YYY, City, Province correctly.

I believe that even if the owner put it on ebay, the infos in the Dell database will still link to the original owner unless he notify him of the ownership change. I don't know if we can change the infos if we called Dell and explain that we bought via ebay or other means and check if warranty is still in effect.
 
I just chatted with Dell.. They will honor the warranty, all that needs to be done is to register it online.. I saved a copy of the chat just in case..
