What do you guys use to monitor your VMs in terms of the actual VM being up as well as services running on it being up?
vCenter seems rather limited in that it doesn't cover services on the VMs. OpsView looks great, though I didn't actually download the appliance to check it out yet. Just trying to get some ideas on what others out there use and perhaps have a look at a different product before I go with OpsView.
It almost seems as if one really needs a couple different products to properly monitor the VMs. One for the "hardware" side of things and one for the services. I checked out vFoglight and while I am not particularly fond of the user interface (let's just be honest, it sucks!) the tool does display some useful stats on the VMs and hosts. I am toying with the idea to perhaps buy the Pro version and run that in addition to OpsView. Thoughts?
