Monitoring Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite with lm-sensors

I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 and cannot get lm-sensors to see any of my fans.

Has anyone been able to find a config that works with this chipset?
 
Gigabyte uses ITE Super I/O chips, which means you'll need the it87 module and probably a bunch of hacks for newish motherboards.

It's impossible to give advice without output from relevant programs such as sensors-detect, lspci, and lsmod. What does "sensors" report? Can you at least read your CPU temps? I assume you have the "k10temp" module loaded.

Try searching the GitHub issues for terms such as "gigabyte": https://github.com/lm-sensors/lm-sensors/issues/

Yeah, that was one of my only gripes with Gig's motherboards -- the chips you need to talk to for sensors aren't well supported. I think lately they're much better (no thanks to gigabyte). Should just need to load the module (as detected by the script ElementDave mentioned), unless it's newer than an it87 or an unsupported variant.

Edit: I should say that some boards just simply don't have any sensors available (or they aren't made available to the OS). Don't think my x370 Gaming 5 shows any fans, for example.
