Monitoring FreeNAS

Has anybody got a good solution for monitoring FreeNAS?

We use Nagios to monitor our other hosts, but can't seem to get anything other that a few basic checks done for FreeNAS.

The SNMP doesn't seem to output much of use, and the alerting system seems to only display a red or green light on the screen, no option for sending emails out.

Any ideas on how to get it monitored? I don't really feel comfortable relying on people logging in and checking the GUI...
