Monitor Video Memory Usage

One of the biggest and most useful features I lost when switching to AMD GPUs was memory usage monitoring. Now, thanks to the great programmers at Microsoft, AMD users can now see how much memory is being used on their videocards. The newest version of Process Explorer has added GPU monitoring support.

As of now, you have to have it in the background so you won't be able to see how much VRAM is being used while you're in-game, but you can always Alt-Tab and check the graph.

msi afterburner, evga precision both can be set to monitor vram usage through the options menu. Not to diminish this find, certainly interesting, just in case you didn't know.

That's only for Nvidia cards. AMD hasn't allowed for that type of monitoring through their design. There might be non-reference cards where AIB partners have, but I've yet to find one.

Thanks a lot. I'm wondering how accurate it is though. I got 1.5gb usage with my two 6950s on the witcher 2 with no anti aliasing and ubersampling turned off. I think it may be doubling the vram.

It's probably using the combined total I imagine, so 750mb per card. Try using the "Engines" button to separate them.
