Hi.
I am currently running on an x1900xt ocd to xtx speeds.
Rest of my rig is in the sig.
I am on a 17inch LCD with a resolution limited to 1280x1024.
Most of my games play pretty nicely with 16xHQAF and 2-4xQAAA
I always play with vsync, because i can't stand image tearing. I also can't stand any kind of jerky play or lags, and will always adjust my settings accordingly.
Recently i have been toying with the idea of upgrading my monitor to a 20" widescreen viewsonic, that has a 1680x1050 native res, so obviously i will want to game at this res.
My main concern is that my games wont run smooth at this res, prehaps lowering the aa and af would make gaming smoother, but wouldn't i be taking 2 steps back to go 1 step forward, or is the bump in resolution worth the compromise?
So to sum up, will the games look better at a higher res with less aa/af?
Will my system be able to cope, and run games really smoothly at that res?
I play majority of games except for MMORPG and Racing.
Any feedback from anyone with firsthand experience is much appreciated.
