Mine goes into standby briefly during boot, but I still see all bios, windows loading screens, etc. Windows loading is, or used to be 640x480 resolution and 4bit color. VERY basic. It would be extremely odd of this behavior, need more information.
I suspect Icewind Dale also runs at 640 resolution, so something has to be weid with your videocard and/or monitor there.
Do you have a second display to try? Second videocard or second PC to plug your current monitor into?
Indeed, i tried renegade at 640x480 and it also blacks out my screen.Could this be my video card or monitor?The monitor is an old CRT so i guess it could be broken.I can get an LCD to test with in some days.
im running XP.A funny thing is that i got Vundo virus and it caused my monitor to show out of range error.After i got rid of it it returned to normal.
